Sussex County March DADness!!!!
Excitement, emotional roller coasters, surprises, disappointments, upsets, success, and unforgettable moments. Those words are a short summary of the NCAA College Basketball National Tournament, also known as March Madness. Those exact same words can also be used to describe fatherhood.
Much like March Madness, the things experienced in fatherhood represent some of the highest highs and lowest lows that fathers have or will experience in their lives. Similarly, we will not forget many fatherhood experiences.
On February 20th, 2021, the DFFC partnered with the Children's Beach House in hosting a March DADness, fatherhood initiative, where fathers and families had the opportunity to enjoy lunch, father interviews, and a family photo session.

“28 Days of Love”
(Healthy Relationships)
February 1st 2021 at 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Studies have shown that lack of parental warmth and love can make children more stressed, since parents put too much pressure on them to succeed without balancing it with affection. This can create health risks for children. Love and affection help children to feel secure regardless of accomplishments. This builds their confidence and self-esteem.
This initiative is to promote healthy relationships, strategic priority 4, and aims to encourage spending time together, taking time away from the issues of life or worries of the day.
Ultimately keeping the romance alive in the relationship will benefit in happier and healthier children and homes.
